A solid item that feels that it has good durability, is made from quality products and of course is pretty solid and attaches well to allow the user to feel safe when having to escape in an emergency. It stores easily in its small bag, can easily be left near your escape route to allow to quick use and of course is pretty simple to unpack and have ready. (That said I have bought a solid steel bar that is bigger than the window frame to which I'll attach it so that the item is ready within seconds.)All round very happy with this product and whilst I hope to never have to use it, its good to know that I have it there for an emergency should one ever arise.

This is a very well made escape ladder for which I have installed eye-bolts in the bedroom window farthest away from the stairs. This is the way out if the stairs are impassable because of fire. The ladder consists of stout webbing with solid steps. On the window end there are two carabiner clips.Amongst my photographs one shows the ladder resting on a pillow but it is there solely to protect the plastic window frame. Escaping for real, the window frame will be the last of anybody's concerns. As it is shipped, the ladder is strapped together with nylon tape. When I rolled it up again to stuff it back into its storage bag I needed to tie it up again simply because it will otherwise become tangled when deployed. I thought of using easily breakable cotton thread but on reflection I don't know who will need to use this. I have instead used bright orange, and very obvious, thick cotton string. The bow knots securing this should be obvious in the frightening uncertainty of fire and, a major consideration, smoke.A consideration when climbing down a rope ladder lying against a wall is forcing one's feet onto the rungs. There is not much room, but self-preservation is a great motivator!

This feels really strong and sturdy - it's for a 1st floor balcony, and the hooks attach to the rails really well. it can handle a lot of weight, which is good to know, and whilst it's not going to be as stable as a solid ladder it wasn't difficult to climb down. It's only really going to get used in emergencies, and I'm pretty happy with it so far - just hope there's never a need to actually to use it (but glad it's there now for peace of mind).

I evaluated this fire escape ladder for emergency preparedness by simulating a quick deployment from a second-floor window. The ladder’s build felt robust, and it unfurled quickly without the need for tools. Its lightweight design made it easy to carry and position, which is essential in a stressful situation. I appreciated the compactness when stored, and its overall construction promised durability. However, I noted that while it worked effectively for a two-story escape, I had some reservations about its ease of use for taller structures. In practice, the ladder did what it was supposed to, and its flame-resistant material added extra reassurance. There is a slight learning curve to ensure the ladder is deployed safely, but overall it provides a practical solution for emergency situations.

The ladder comes in a bag with a pull cored opening. Inside the bag, the ladder is packed with a nylon package bands which need removing with scissors, so if the ladder are being stored for emergency use, this banding needs to be removed before storing away. The side tape (styles) is very strong and the rungs are solid and strongly attached to the side tape. The top end of the ladder has carabiners which has a additional screw safety catches. The opening on the carabiner is a max of 17mm. The styles on the top of the ladder are 490mm before the first rung. Our balcony rails are 52mm dia, so to attach the ladder, we just passed the styles around the rail and through the carabiners.Overall this is a safety product that I hope we never have to use . But on inspection of the product it will work perfectly for the purpose its intended for.
